Asami Kanai (金井 麻美, Kanai Asami) is an actress who portrayed Chisato Matsui in Battle Royale. She was born on August 21st, 1984 in Kanagawa, Japan.
Asami performed in two other productions before Battle Royale, a TV movie in 1998 and a TV series in 1999.

Asami accidentally injured Satomi Ishii (the actress who plays Haruka Tanizawa) by hitting her in the face with the pasta bowl. This gave Satomi a minor injury on the face and Asami cried over this mistake.
